Joys inizia la sua carriera artistica negli anni novanta. Come molti suoi coetanei non ha una formazione accademica e si avvicina all’arte tramite i graffiti. comincia scrivendo il suo nome sul muro, focalizza la sua ricerca sul lettering, prima come esigenza di esistenza poi trasformandosi in esigenza di evoluzione; velocemente, espande il suo lavoro arricchendolo di spessore e matericità.

La sua ricerca va oltre le due dimensioni e acquista nel tempo una plasticità che si appropria del territorio e della fruizione di un pubblico involontario e inconsapevole. Da anni Joys ha esteso il suo linguaggio anche alla scultura, utilizzando materiali diversi ma mantenendo sempre uno stile unico.
In bilico tra underground ed istituzionale, la ricerca di Joys è stata riconosciuta dagli addetti ai lavori del sistema dell’arte come inedita e personalissima grazie anche al suo maniacale studio del lettering e delle sue forme.
La sua arte pubblica ha raggiunto quasi tutto il mondo: da Venezia agli Stati Uniti, includendo Cina, Taiwan, Russia, Australia. La sua esposizione principale comprende diverse importanti istituzioni riconosciute come il PAC e la Triennale di Milano, il MART Museo di arte moderna e contemporanea di Rovereto, e il Museo d’arte moderna GMoMA in Corea del sud.

Joys began his artistic career in the nineties. Like many of his peers, he does not have an academic background and approaches art through graffiti. he begins by writing his name on the wall, he focuses his research on lettering, first as a need for existence then transforming into a need for evolution; quickly, he expands his work enriching it with thickness and materiality. His research goes beyond two dimensions and over time acquires a plasticity that appropriates the territory and the enjoyment of an involuntary and unaware public. For years Joys has also extended its language to sculpture, using different materials but always maintaining a unique style.

Poised between the underground and the institutional, Joys’s research has been recognized by the insiders of the art system as unprecedented and highly personal thanks also to his obsessive study of lettering and its forms. His public art has reached almost the whole world: from Venice to the United States, including China, Taiwan, Russia, Australia. Its main exhibition includes several important recognized institutions such as the PAC and the Milan Triennale, the MART Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rovereto, and the GMoMA Museum of Modern Art in South Korea.
